Livebox Recovery Process
Before starting, it's important that you turn all firewall software on your computer off.
Step 1 - Start the RGWRepair process
The RGWRepair process will open.
Please ensure that your Livebox is not working, and that you have already performed a factory reset on the Livebox (details can be found in the Livebox help file).
Click on Next to proceed to step 2.
Step 2 - Prepare your Livebox
Step 3 – Configure your PC
Select the ‘firmware…’ file on the CD and click Open.
Once selected click Next to proceed.
Step 4 – Initiate the repair
Follow the instructions below carefully:
Note: if you do receive a Windows Security Alert or other Firewall / Antivirus alert select to Unblock, Allow Access, Grant Access or other similar option to proceed.
If you receive the error 'Operation stopped cause the gateway fails programmation mode', ensure that you've disabled your firewall software and start the procedure again.
Step 5 – Repair in progress
The Firmware should now automatically update. It is important that you do not unplug your Livebox during this process.
After approximately 10 minutes the blue progress bar will reach the end of the line. Click Finish to close the recovery process.
Step 6 - Prepare your Livebox
Note: If you disabled firewall software, ensure to enable it again before continuing.
Reconnect your broadband phone (RJ11) cable to the Livebox (socket next to the power connector).
Step 7 - Update your username and password
Finally, enter your broadband username and password in the Livebox configuration pages. To do this, follow the instructions below:
The username is: admin
The password is: admin
After a few moments the ADSL status should change to 'Connected' and the '@' light on your Livebox should turn solid; this indicates you are ready to access the Internet again.
To test your connection, we suggest that you view the Wanadoo home page.
That's it, you're finished! You can now surf the web and access your email as normal.
Within 10 minutes of completing this recovery you should check all computers which usually connect to your Livebox via wireless can still do so.
If it's not possible to check all computers at this time, then next time you try to connect the machine in question, press the Pairing/Association button (button 1) on the back of the Livebox. This will allow the connection to be re-established.
Step 8 - update your Livebox
Once you've recovered your Livebox, you'll need to update the firmware on the Livebox. To do this, follow the instructions below:
Please note: During the update, your Livebox will disconnect from the Internet and reboot itself.
Remember: The power cable must not be unplugged during this update. If so, the update may fail and your Livebox may not work. If a power cut occurs, you may need to repeat the above steps.
After about 10 minutes, your Livebox
will restart, and you can continue to use the Internet.
